This is a technique which I discovered last year when I started organizing social circle events.
Using it I was able to:
- bring over 30 interesting people to a party
- go to the theatre with 2 SHBs on my arms
- always have interesting people to travel with
- always have a table in a club on weekends
I tested it roughly before posting it here. This technique works … and it works flawlessly!
So here’s Angelsin’s – The Events Technique:
1. Preparation
- subscribe to 3 or more online publications that promote local events in your area
- note all the events that you’d enjoy doing on a calendar (I suggest Google Calendar as it sends you reminders)
- use Facebook to create an event, something like: “Partying at X” or “Going to Y concert”
- invite your friends there
2. Action
- if you have some flakey girls call them and sell them the event
- try to invite more than one of your flakes as some will, naturally, flake on you again
- go for really interesting events (e.g. magic shows), so they’re interested from the start
- tell the invitees that they can bring more people
3. Maintenance
- create a Facebook group called “Party People YourTown”
- add all the people that came to the event to your group
- create your next events on that group even if you invite people from outside (the idea of exclusivity)
- on your next events always invite all the people from this group (they already came so you’re just tightening the friendships)
- do different types of events: clubbing, traveling, going to converts, home parties
- always introduce your friends to one another, they’ll form friendships (and if a friend goes to a party you also get motivated to go)
Benefits
- you can create a social circle from scratch (e.g. in a new town)
- in time, your group will grow and they’ll form friendships between themselves, adding more members as they go
- you’re the leader of the group because you’re the one making most of the events and showing people around
- girls will maintain contact with you because they know you’re doing something interesting tonight
- you’ll be able to Facebook close people instantly (because you have a party group in which …)
- you’ll meet cool and interesting people
